Buyers form a view before they reach the front door, and outdoor work is usually the cheapest presentation spend available.
Highest impact, least cost
- Edges cut and paths swept.
- Weeds out of beds, gravel and paving joints.
- Fresh mulch — it makes tired beds look maintained immediately.
- Overgrown shrubs cut back so windows and the facade are visible.
- Rubbish, old pots and stored junk removed entirely.
Do not over-invest
New plantings will not establish before the campaign and rarely return their cost. Tidy and clean beats new.
Order of work
Clear and prune first, then weed, then mulch, then mow and edge last so the finish is not walked through. Book waste removal for the same day — a pile of prunings on the verge undoes the work.
