Gardens are where routine inspections most often generate a note, because they are the easiest thing to let slide.
What gets looked at
- Lawn mowed and edges cut — edges make more visual difference than the mow itself.
- Garden beds free of obvious weeds.
- Paths and driveways swept and clear.
- No rubbish or stored junk down the side of the house.
- Bins in their proper place, not left out.
- Overgrowth kept off the fence line and away from the neighbour.
Edges first
If you are short of time, edge and sweep before anything else. A mown lawn with ragged edges reads as neglected; a tidy edge reads as maintained.
Before a lease ends
Compare against the entry condition report. You are being measured against how it was handed to you, not against perfection.
