What to have ready before a crew arrives

· 1 min read · Labour Hire

Crews arrive ready to work. These are the things that most often stop them starting.

Access

Gate codes, keys, lift access, someone on site to let people in. If access depends on another trade finishing, have a fallback task ready.

Parking

Say where to park. In tight commercial areas and inner suburbs this is the single most common delay.

A clear scope

Know what you want done first. "We will work it out when you get here" costs you the first half hour.

Somewhere for the waste

If the job generates rubbish, have the bin or skip on site — or book removal at the same time so it is handled in one go.

Amenities

Toilet, drinking water and shade. In a Perth summer that is not a nicety, it is how the crew keeps working safely through the afternoon.
